Authentic flatbread baked fresh by Joseph's Bakery since 1972. Founded by Joseph Boghos, Joseph’s Bakery began making pita bread in a small local bakery in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1972. Driven by the increasing demand for fresh, delicious pita, and a commitment to quality and service, Joseph’s laid the foundation for ongoing expansion across New England and beyond. Today, we are a majority women-owned business led by the third generation of the Boghos family, reaching a half-century milestone in October 2022 since our inception in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Joseph's Bakery produces a variety of flatbreads, with pita bread being our signature product. Additionally, we offer lavash and wraps. The inspiration for our bakery came in 1952 when Joseph Boghos immigrated from Damascus, Syria, to the greater Boston area and recreated authentic pita bread from a cherished family recipe in his kitchen.

Our products are vegan, except for the Honey-Wheat Lavash, which is vegetarian due to the honey. Joseph’s products can be stored at room temperature or in the freezer for up to one year. Our flatbreads are versatile and can be used for making flatbread pizzas, sandwiches, appetizer spreads, roll-ups, pinwheels, and homemade chips. With over 35 years of certification, Joseph’s Bakery products are Kosher, made in the USA at our Lawrence, MA bakery.
